Fast forward to the 1600’s, when Pilgrims came. They were so poor and weak and defenseless, that even the Savages took pity on them. So they magically produced a ton of food for the Pilgrims, who were in turn nice enough to invite them to eat it with them. They had a big feast together as equals.
